MASONRY RESTORATION
Heights Above The Rest
Long Island weather destroys brick and mortar a little more every winter. Our craftsmen restore chimneys to last another 50 years — not just patch them for next season.

THE LONG ISLAND PROBLEM
Brick is incredibly durable, but it's also porous. When water enters your chimney's masonry during a rainstorm, it sits there. When the temperature drops below freezing, that water expands as ice, literally blowing the face off the brick (spalling) and cracking the mortar joints.
This freeze-thaw cycle happens dozens of times every winter on Long Island. Over decades, it compromises the structural integrity of your chimney. Mortar deteriorates, crowns crack, and water begins pouring directly into your home's walls and ceilings.
We don't just patch the visible holes. We identify how water is entering, repair the structural damage, and seal the masonry to stop the cycle from continuing.

MORTAR JOINT RESTORATION
When your mortar joints start to crumble, your chimney loses its structural strength and becomes a sponge for rainwater. Tuckpointing is the process of removing the old, damaged mortar and replacing it with fresh, structurally sound mortar.
We don't just smear new mortar over the old stuff. Our masons grind out the deteriorated joints to the proper depth and hand-pack new mortar that is color-matched to your existing brickwork. This restores the structural integrity of your chimney and stops water infiltration in its tracks.

TOP-DOWN PROTECTION
The chimney crown is the concrete slab at the very top of your chimney. Its job is to act as an umbrella, shedding water away from the flue and the brickwork. When it cracks, water pours directly into the core of your chimney.
Depending on the severity of the damage, we either apply a flexible, waterproof crown coat sealant (for minor cracking) or perform a full concrete crown rebuild (for structural failure). A properly built crown should overhang the brickwork to create a drip edge, preventing water from running down the face of the chimney.

BRICK REPLACEMENT
When bricks spall (flake and crumble), they can't be repaired — they must be replaced. Leaving damaged bricks in place compromises the entire structure and invites more water damage.
Our masons carefully cut out the damaged bricks and replace them with new ones. We go to great lengths to source reclaimed or matching bricks so the repair blends seamlessly with your original masonry. Whether it's a few scattered bricks or an entire course, we restore the structural integrity and the aesthetic appeal of your home.

COMPLETE RESTORATION
Sometimes a chimney is too far gone for tuckpointing or patching. If the structure is leaning, severely deteriorated, or unsafe, a full rebuild is the only responsible option.
We tear down the damaged structure to a solid foundation (usually the roofline) and rebuild it entirely with new brick, mortar, a new flue liner, and a proper concrete crown. This isn't a temporary fix — it's a permanent restoration backed by our 10-year workmanship warranty.
